MY SYSTEM CAME OUT!!!!

ImmPact2 is LIVE. LIVE I tell you!
The Immunization Information System that my program has been working for 2 years to design, develop, and release was implemented today and SURVIVED. The culmination of 4 years of effort from concept to implementation and a $2M 'side project' to my regular job, the system was released with no major issues sending us scrambling back to the drawing board, or forced a revert to our existing system.
WE ARE LIVE!!!

Took my first deer by bow, a four point buck. First day out hunting, in the evening.
Dad was out until 2m and then helped me take up tracking again at 5am. I even had to loan him some 'woods' clothes, hence the camo. So, we're both a little tired.

Ole Bristol Days were a blast. Samantha went down the waterslide again, and again... was the smallest kid on the run.

Here is a video of her last year on her small slide.

Samantha on the small slide in Aug 2004.

Here is a video this year of her on the big slide. Watch the small slide video and then imagine her on this one. She went on it last year when she was this small.

She also LOVED the fireworks.
Here is a sample of how my first pictures came out with our new Canon a95.
I have a lot of practicing to do.

Looks like my ISP did a small revert. I lost May's and some June comments.
That's like I guess. Sammi loves playing in the rain, she can count to 10 and she has almost the whole alphabet down saying A-Z. She gets a little stuck on "Q".

News (04/10/05)

I read a post on a forum I frequent when someone was discussing their philosophy on a recent big ticket item:

Quote:
"remember the object of the game is that your bank account the last day should reach $0.00, not a day before nor a day after."

My response:
"I hope that on the last day that what I have left has afforded me a life better than what my parents might have imagined for me, and enough to assist my daughter in finishing out her days better than I could have hoped."

Check out my online pals website. She is a wonderful writer about to have a book released by Warner. When she is absolutely, disgustingly famous and making her appearance on Oprah, I'll have the satisfaction of saying I knew her when she was only mildly famous. Alas, I can not. Therefore, I'm resigned to being slightly less than unstoppable.

Roof was done last weekend. It looks great.

Was hit by an unregistered, uninsured, and illegal plate using driver 30 days ago.
Now have a shimmy in the rear of my truck that no one can seem to figure out.
I'll be driving around with a shimmy until the Nissan is paid off (6 more months).

Sammi is getting up in the night again. I am tired... so tired....

News (10/05/04)

A bit if self-disclosure. Today the roof fell in on a large project at work that I have primary ownership of. The situation has developed at a National level that, in all seriousness, is in no way under my control. Yet, I now have insomnia due the the scenarios running through my my head as I to try and triage the situation in theory. There are few alternatives. Sometimes it is a bane to care too much. *sigh*

I am then reminded of a conversation that I once had with my Dad. My Dad has always said that challenges and hardship build character. - Sage advice to be sure. But, "How frequently do life lessons have to be served?", I ask sarcastically.
With a completely straight face he replies, "You have been given broad shoulders for a reason. If not you, who else? At least you care enough to take up the challenge." And so I do, again. Sometimes it is a gift to care too much. *smile*

New Baby Pictures Up!!

Samantha loves the water. She loves swimming in Biscay Pond and the Ocean.
The cold does not factor into her adventure. She has no concept what-so-ever of cold. She will definitely say when something is too hot. But nothing is ever too cold.

This Month Mandy and I start on an ambitious goal of becoming debt free, other than our house, in 2.5 years. This will save us thousands in interest in the long term, so we consider the short term sacrifice worth it. That and having a toddler means we are not wasting too much money on frivolous thing like; movies, dates, or clothes (for ourselves). Too busy showing her the wonders of the world to take much time for ourselves I guess. So, we plow our money into our debt now, and by the time she is in kinder garden, we will have some flexibility for 'day off' adventures while she is in school. Muuuahahahaha. ALONE TIME! BWWAAAHHAHAHAHAHA.

News (03/03/04)

Not much to report. Sammi loves the outdoors, she can hardly be contained within the house. We are in the process of raising a 'free range' - outdoor child.

Box-family.com (09/02/03)
Samantha still has no teeth, but she is eating real food, standing without support, crawling over anything and everything she can find (rock climber wannabe), and generally a very happy baby.

Box-family.com (02/14/03)
By now you figured out the bloodhand.com site has moved. It was with great sadness that I shut down that domain name rather than keep paying for it. With a new family I am having less and less time for gaming and too many people harrassed me about having my family website on what they saw as a 'gruesome' site name. I guess I am maturing or something, here is our new website location : www.box-family.com

Samantha The Rotund One (01/20/03)
It is with all Love that I state that my child is now a big fat fatty. WOW! I went to Atlanta for a few days and came back to find that my child had grown over 1.5 pounds. We modified her feeding regiment and it had an amazing effect. She has really bloomed into the rolly polly baby that people all expect. She has also been sleeping a LOT more now that we can get her little tummy full. She smiles all the time, and it almost makes up for when she is so demanding. She certainly knows the power of her cries at this point. We are all learning together, as Samantha expands her cry, grunt, and squeal vocabulary Mandy and I are trying to keep up.

More Pics of the little one! (Dec/Jan)

Samantha grows (12/14/02)
It's been a couple weeks now and Samantha is back over her birth weight. It was a little bit of a struggle at first since she was smaller and did not seem interested in eating, but now she eats ALL the time! All the books say she should be sleeping 14 hours a day, HAHAHAHA. She eats eats and eats and hardly ever sleeps. She closes her eyes for 10 minutes and it powers her up for another 2 hours.
We're hoping that once she gets some weight on she will settle into a pattern that gives us a little time to do some things for ourselves, like eat, shower, and do some housework. As it is, I think Samantha is enjoying her "ME" time with us.

BABY! (04/02)
That's right.  Mandy and I are going to be parents. We were planning on late July, but I guess stuff happens.  We are still trying to figure out how, and Mandy claims to be the next Holy Mother. So, we'll keep you posted.  Things are busy, crazy busy right now...

New Year!! (01/02)
This site has moved to my retail webhost, as it offers a few more options. Its a new year, and I am trying out this new look for this site. Please be patient as we convert over.

We now have DSL! That is right, I hounded my phone company enough that they upgraded our line and we are now one of the first residential customers of DSL in our area.  The difference between dial-up and dsl is like the difference between a yugo and an Audi!

New Years eve was really fun, we'll have pictures as soon as Natasha burns them to CD and brings them over.  We spent the evening with our friends, Sonya, Volker, Natasha, Scott, Adam, and Kristina.  Someone, who shall remain nameless, enjoyed a good amount of Hard Cider.

The trip to Germany has been canceled 8(
After the attempted 'shoe bomber' too many people dropped out.
We are severely depressed over this happening!
